Over 1,500 Books & Articles on Diet & Nutrition

Postby Ericksmadhouse on Wed Jul 01, 2009 3:40 am

Hi,

My goal is to give you all kinds of tips on how to shed the fat pounds and keep it off the healthy way.

I am not a doctor, just someone who has read over 1,500 articles and books on fat-loss, health & nutrition. I have personally lowered my cholesterol from 238 to 174 in 3 months with a side effect of dropping 24 pounds.

Thanks for having me here.

Hi Erick; My burning questions for now is, What do you know about the Cabbage Soup Diet? I mean it's obviously a low calorie diet, but why is the weight loss so significant the first week, and so much less the second week when the food is the same. Some people say it's water loss, but how can that be when we are not limiting our fluid intake, in fact it's quite the opposite. I hope you really don't mind answering questions because I may be directing some Forum members to you. Thanks, Trini

I've not heard of someone on the cabbage soup diet for more than one week, most people don't last a full 7 days.
One big reason anyone would lose less weight on any diet the second week is your metabolism. Your body's metabolism is a tricky tricky thing. Once your body is acustomed to a certain diet it will s l o w way down holding onto everything it's got including fat pounds. A good rule of thumb is that the first 10 pounds anyone loses will be extra water weight, then the hard work comes into play...meaning cardio and staying on a strict diet intake.
Hope this helps.

It certainly does help Erick. I've heard that there are some foods or combination of foods that increases the metabilism, is that true ? If so, do you know what they are and how they are consumed.

Juicing is an absolute metabolic hero. I recommend a book called Eating for Energy you can google it, and no, I'm not getting a kickback on this book. Let me know how it works out.
