I play football
and I tried this diet this summer so that I could get cut for
next season. It worked. I did it for one week and I lost in
total 21 lbs. I was pretty thick, now all of my working out is
showing loud and clear. My abs are showing, the muscle in my
arms and legs and more pronounced and everything.
A few tips from
my dad so that you wouldn't suffer while on Cabbage Soup Diet:
1. During this
diet you're deprived of fats and carbs. This is what makes you
weak. So eat some carb or some fat everyday. Like, follow the
regime, but have something sweet too everyday. I suggest a
Ludens cough drop. They're small, so they aren't chalked with
calories and they give you that little bit of sugar to satiate
your appetite. Other stuff that works is a few tic-tacs, a few M
& Ms, even chewing sugarless gum for a while will help take your
mind of your fat/carb deprivation.
2. You aren't
eating enough to reciprocate it with a workout regime. I had to
abstain from lifting and just stick with low-intensity cardio. I
suggest just jumping rope and/or walking. Don't try and walk
fast or jump rope fast because you'll tire yourself out. Just do
it for like 10 minutes, 2-3 times a day. This will be enough so
that your body won't be sluggish in digesting and then you can
be a little more lenient afterwards because you've jump started
your metabolism.
3. Eat just 5
times a day. Eat breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon
snack, and dinner. Nothing else. If you stick to a schedule, you
won't have to think about eating all together. You'll just eat
your fill during your designated times.
4. If you have to
have something like Oreos or something solid, do this. Put it in
your mouth, on the tip of your tongue for 30 seconds. If you
still want it, chew it for a while. Then spit it out. Then rinse
your mouth out. You'll have the taste, but not the calories.
5. Mix a drink.
This diet calls for fruit. So instead of eating the fruit, drink
it. Drinks usually fill you up so that you aren't as hungry.
6.Lift small
weights. If you have 5 pound dumbbells or something. Lift those
till your arms get tired. This will keep your muscles from
atrophying. Do it for a full body workout.
7. Drink water.
Water keeps you full. I drank a gallon a day, so I wasn't even
hungry much. This is a double benefit because the more water you
intake, the more your body is free to give off.
